Tasty Tuesday - Apple Pie
Filling
7 medium apples, peeled & sliced thinly
1/2 C. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
Topping
3/4 C. firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 C. flour
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/3 C. chilled butter, cut into small pieces
For the crust - I have done homemade, but over time have found that Pillsbury crust that you find in the refridgerated section tastes just as good!

- Mix together all filling ingredients, spoon into your already prepared crust.
- To prepare topping - in a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, flour & nutmeg
- Use a pastry blender or 2 knives to cut butter into brown sugar mixture, until crumbs form.
- Sprinkle the apple filling with the crumb mixture.
- Bake at 400 for approx. 35 minutes.

Tasty Tuesday - Potato Bar Chili
I just snagged this recipe from one of the Taste of Home digital editions.
1-1/2 lbs. ground beef
2 medium onions, chopped
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1 can (28 oz.) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can (15.5 oz.) chili beans, undrained
2 TBS. sugar
2 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
Baked potatoes
1-1/2 lbs. ground beef
2 medium onions, chopped
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1 can (28 oz.) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can (15.5 oz.) chili beans, undrained
2 TBS. sugar
2 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
Baked potatoes
- In a Dutch oven, cook the beef, onions, & pepper over a medium heat, until beef is no longer pink, drain.
- Add the tomatoes, beans, sugar & seasonings.
- Bring to a boil
- Reduce heat & simmer uncovered for 20 minutes.
- Serve over potatoes.
